We bought the previous model of this machine and in an effort to save a few pennies AEG decided to glue the condenser drawer together rather than use screws like every other manufacturer. They did this glueing so badly that the entire condenser drawer has exposed adhesive all over it. Not surprisingly when the machine heats up and hot air passes over the glue it makes a strong glue smell which gets into the clothes and cannot be removed by any amount of airing. I thought German companies were supposed to be good at design and manufacturing but while AEG seem to have made the majority of the machine well this huge oversight has turned an otherwise well made piece of equipment into a useless waste of hundreds of pounds. We couldnt even return it as they said once it was used once you couldnt return it even though we had no way of knowing this would happen until it was turned on. 1 year later and the thing still smells just as bad on occasion that it gets used, even with the back door wide open to save on glue smelling air being recycled through the machine. Cant say 100% that this new model is the same but after going into a currys and looking at all their AEG models it was the case with their entire line 1 year ago and given their stupidity then theres a fair chance it is still that way. Total waste of money. Unhelpful patronising employees. Choose a different brand if you have any sense of smell.

Great dryer, the seller went over and above the call of duty to deliver it to us - a 400 mile round trip during the freezing Beast from the East weather. Haven't quite worked out how to use all the features yet, but our clothes are dry so all good. Oh, and it sings to you when it's finished its cycle!
